Danio Danielle
We have one danio who's the toughest fish ever. We have a bunch of plastic plants scattered around the tank. One of them had a defect, where two neighboring leaves weren't cut apart from each other and we didn't notice. She got stuck in the little loop created between the leaves and the stems. She thrashed so much trying to get loose, most of her tail fin was ripped off. Then when we discovered her, we tried to free her, but she was jammed in so tight that the only way to let her loose was to clip through the stem with scissors! It left giant gashes on either side of her body just behind her gills. A few months later she developed a benign tumor that caused her belly to swell up in a big ball.
And she's still alive and healthy almost two years later! Still no tail, scars on both sides, and a massive growth, but happy and energetic and doing just fine! Talk about a tough fish.
