	Monday, October 24, 2022 Melon Mattress We harvested a few watermelons from our home garden again this summer. They're personal sized, and they are so fresh that the rinds are tender right up to the skin. Guinea pigs can eat watermelon rinds anyway, but they especially love our home grown ones because they are so juicy and not too sweet. And we still peel the dark green, outermost layer off. Even still the pieces we give them are much smaller than depicted in the comic. No need to risk overfeeding them with sweets. Bean is so funny, a little while after giving them the water melon rinds, I saw him sleeping on his. Hopefully he ate enough and his serving wasn't stolen by the other pigs while he napped. And thankfully he didn't permanently stain his coat pink.
