	Thursday, January 28, 2021 Purr Equals Go Away This illustrates the point. A guinea pig purring is actually part of rumble strutting. It's a warning and a sign that it doesn't like what's happening. Sometimes they will do that if they're afraid you're about to pet them and they don't want it. But occasionally, the purr will arrive without the strut, and it actually is a sign of contentment. But if it's petting and Guinea, that's not likely.
